Michael Jackson lifted A LOT from this ONE performance by Bob Fosse…it’s uncanny how much he lifted…thanks for pointing that out Steven Menendez-fascinating to see.

For Deee-lites second show , I hired Captain Whizzo ( Joshua Light show -hendrix , janis Joplen ,Sly Stone,etc…..) t project his superb oil and water liquid multimedia show . I wasn’t just a fan of Whizzo , he was the perfect way to cover up how nervous I was singing in public , because I was in the dark and let his show do the work . Fortunatly I got over stage fright after a couple of gigs with Bootsy’s rubber band backing me up . Whizzo had a hippie habit of showing up at our williamsburg apt ( this was in 1987) about 3 days before the gig saying ” can i crash here until the gig? ” . his fingers were always purple from the Inks. he was a huge man who could carry all his own gear ( huge overhead projectors that looked like a big table and smaller 16” projectors and slide shows . gear from the 50’s and he’d carry them up 6 flights to our flat . he was too paranoid to have an assistant ( all that acid i suppose) but the warmest person with a huge heart. This performance is before towa was in the group and was performed at the legendary pyramid club . Both songs “I won’t give up” and “electric shock” ( subconsciously written about the internet) were on the second album INFINITY WITHIN. We worked with Capt. Whizzo for approx 4 years. We couldn’t take him on the road when we blew up because his equipment was not transportable . a shame. Capt. Whizzo -still in my heart- R.I.P. - Lady Miss Kier

FROM DAVEY D.= TRUTH
Today is Ronald Reagan Day… here’s what we should teach our kids: People all over the world especially our children deserve to know the truth about the man who was nick named ‘The Great Communicator‘.Should we remind the kids how Reagan ignored the AIDs epidemic that sprung up during his two terms? People were dying all over and good ole Ronnie was steadfast in not talking about the dreaded disease in any form or fashion. The sad joke at the time was he cared more about UFO’s than he did victims of AIDs. Ronnie was out to lunch on that crises.
Speaking of lunch, maybe we should teach the kids about how Ronald Reagan insisted that ketchup and relish were vegetables as he aggressively fought to push inner city school lunch programs to cut cooked and fresh vegetables from their menus. 30 years later we have a major health problems especially in the area of obesity amongst our youth.. Thanks Ronnie you did good. I could always teach the kids about Reagan’s trickle down economic theory where he fought to allow rich corporations and businesses to cut taxes which would allow them to create new jobs thus benefitting the masses. I guess I should also teach the kids how many of those rich folks who got those tax breaks promptly took their American jobs overseas where they continued to enjoy tax breaks while our economy was turned upside down..
First let’s start by noting that it’s been fascinating to watch as many in power in particular corporate interest who greatly benefitted from his 8 year reign have been hard at work re-writing history and making one of the most detestable figures to ever reside at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave seem down right angelic.
The Father of Crack
To sum it up what you had was in the early 80s, the US was beefing with Iran and the US was beefing with left leaning factions in Nicaragua called the Sandinistas. Reagan and his boys wanted to knock off the Sandinistas because they didn’t like their politics and the populus movement they represented. Latin America was on the rise and overthrowing dictators who were backed by the US. Reagan wanted to overthrow the Sandinistas by arming a bunch of CIA backed rebels called the Contras. Since we’re supposed to be a freedom loving country we couldn’t do our bidding publicly, and as I noted Congress wasnt with the program, so Reagan’s senior advisors launched a secret war.
What they did was covertly sell arms to Iran and take the money and use it to fund Contra operations in Nicaragua. Additional money was netted for the Contras through the sale of crack cocaine which suddenly overnight gained huge popularity in hoods throughout the country. Freeway Rick and South Central, LA was ground zero.
LAs notorious gangs became the main traffickers who spread all out the country with Freeway Rick being the kingpen.

www.soul-patrol.com presented a beautiful tribute for SOUL TRAIN’S Don Cornelious including quotes from Ric “Doc” Wilson ( Mandrill & The Wilson Brothers) ,Mike Calhoun (Dazz Band) ,Marshall Thompson (Chi-Lites ), Micheal Henderson and myself among others. Here’s what I had to say…….
" I overheard my grandfather say " don’t let those little kids watch those spooks on TV", i knew then grandpa was ignorant in that way, I learned at age 5 to gravitate towards beauty and SOULTRAIN is the most beautiful and influential show ever on TV and now on "you tube" it is eternal. Those traintrax are chugging along, keeping the soul strong, live music every week ( before the sampler ) and thru the 80’s setting the best examples with a new classic opening theme every few years. We could never pay him back for bringing us Brainstorm, Rufus, P-funk ,Tina Marie , Temptations, and hundreds of the best FUNK, RNB DISCO, from AMERICAN BLACK MUSIC . I appreciate you Don. The Soul train line is ever etched into our funky minds. I could never compare him to the other music shows because his vision was based on sharing the hottest jams wether they made it to top 40 payola charts or just club hits or rnb charting artists ,and don’t understand why when someone dies they get compared. He brought us down the trax to the soul railroad. The SOOOOOOOUUUUUUULLLLLLL TTTRRRRRRRAAAAAIIIIINNNNN will never stop. Those trax are eternal ”

M.I.A. Bad Girls ! she get’s down - she can hang -and have you trembling….. BUT i dont understand why a girl who married a billionaire would need more money or fame from madonna to be madonna’s cheerleader… for greed? for fame? I guess money and fame really change some people for the worse….the shallowness of fame was easy for me to walk away from…the lack of freedom of speech in the U.S. press during the Gulf war….was easy for me to get out of the game….maybe she panicked after all the bad reviews of her GREAT album due to her brilliant courageous political message. girl… of course they’re gonna come for you for telling the truth about how awful war is…but allying with madonna isn’t going to help your credibility. if your’e going to give the finger….don’t give it to the public…..give it to madonna for using you while you know she’s always been a thieving artist with NO originality or musical credibility of her own. As artists , we all get inspired but some seekers of fame will steal from unreleased demos or her peers=no credibility from her peers or musicians. Madonna birthed the gaga mentality which is to be reductive and the sheeple love it but artists don’t ! -lady miss kier
for more on rip-offs go here: but keep in mind this site left out A LOT and focused on many things i dont believe are rip=offs at all such as the hollywood glamour poses-there is only so many ways to pose- plea…..skip that part and get to the lawsuits and the plagiarism ….trust if it wasn’t true…the sight would be pulled down for SLANDER:

Party Happenin’ peeps- the 90’s. from “Dewdrop in the Garden” written by : Lady Kier, sup a DJ Dmitry, and Ani. 1992 -released in 1994. - www.ladykier.com
i raided my grandma Naomi’s record collection to find the sampled sounds for this song for our third and last deee-lite album ,released in 1994. Dmitry added the keys and together with Ani we added the beats . When it came out a lot of people said it sounded like “Doop” , however we were playing this on dance floors 2 years before “Doop” was released as we were also working on 14 other songs for the entire “Do-drop” album.I knew it would be a club floor hit because of the responses ,however it never really did take off at the time- but I’m glad to see how it was a big influence and a cult record today- 2 decades later. The next video I post is the live version - the quality is low but I choreographed this together with chris “noodles” Styles and we brought this new sound around the world in 94. hope you enjoy-Lady Miss Kier
