When Union organizer M. Murali Mohan was murdered by police, the workers broke into the  co. president’s home and murdered him for revenge.  Globalisation sounded good at first in 1993. It sounded as if we were all connected ,but that isn’t the corp.definition, cheap labor with no benefits is what it’s really about for them.  The workers in this case were unstoppable, tearing down everything in their way, furniture, machinery, vehicles in the compound. One group divided from the others, found the co. president’s home, broke in K C Chandrasekhar’s house and beat him to death as his wife watched in horror.  Out in the town, the demonstrators started fires on their rampage fueled by the pursuit of fair wages. The police did not fire warning shots, they just shot at random,” says Satyanarayana, a union member, adding, “Policemen wouldn’t let us pick up the injured. They lay there bleeding for hours after the shooting.”

2 weeks ago 300 apple employees went to the rooftop of the factory in China threatening to  jump in mass suicide if their wages were’t raised. they didn’t do it BUT this is why we NEED unions .

I agree, some union leaders have become corrupt but not nearly as many as corp. owners , their lobbyists, and  politicians who take their campaign contributions or bribes and together  putting profits  in safe haven countries to avoid paying any U.S. taxes. without their taxes -who’s going to pay for public school, fixing potholes, delivering our mail, collecting our trash, etc….. 2012 is the time when workers from other countries with no minimum wage or benefits raise up and tear it down. Globalisation might allow  us in the US to buy a shirt for 10$ while unemployed , but the people who  did the labor ( since we moved our labor overseas) are not having it anymore. I would like to see manufacturing return to the U.S.  where we already have laws in place to force corporations to pay a fair wage and provide insurance and disability to those injured on the job. Let’s bring back those “made in America” or ‘look for the union label” back to the states and REALLY create more jobs. if we can’t get manufacturing back in the states then we will surely need a GLOBAL MINIMUM WAGE and the same benefits our union leaders fought for here in the U.S to become global.-Lady Miss Kier

i’m not sure about these….if art is meant to shock and terrify than these are important and def intriguing but i can’t help to think how i would respond …it would def ruin my day and make me feel pranked . this artist wants to be the most famous TROLL artist. what do you think? it scares me that most U.S. folks would just walk right on by without trying to help ( the more realistic looking sculptures). with no free mental healthcare we are conditioned in the U.S. to do that.walk on by. maybe that’s his point….but we see this everyday. the distraught, the lonely, the walking dead. maybe he/she’s from europe ? I do like the Macob …..but the world is so violent, lonely , and confused enough. it’s like the ONION. they were funny until i couldn’t tell the difference between the real news and them ( during bush propaganda overload years) You’d have to live in the U.S. to  get what i’m talking about.-lady miss kier

Slavery by Another Name is a 90 minute documentary based on the book of the same name, that challenges one of America’s most cherished assumptions: the belief that slavery in this country ended with Abraham Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation of 1863. airs

They didn’t teach me this in school, but it didn’t take long growing up to find out  how many African American men and women fill our ( now privately owned jails) today for petty crimes or for being innocent  while white collar crime gets away with murder in our screwy U.S.courtrooms where those who can afford the most connected attorney win … not nearly enough has changed even NOW.  Looking forward to seeing this to learn about our recent past and primarily to get the filmmakers take on modern day slavery of 2012 in our U.S. prison system -  lady Miss Kier    www.ladykier.com

I loved the the BLEEPS! before they revived their punk roots for this project and were hugely successful drum n bass producers. it seems we’ve all evolved from that scene and onto new horizons- isn’t that what songwriting and producing and art is about! vote rigging - it puts democracy at risk at every election  and could happen again if we’re not paying attention. Look at all the damage Bush caused by stealing 2 elections. if the rethugs steal this again , we won’t be passive and in shock this time because we know too much about it thanks to the countless technicians who have come forwards  with the TRUTH.  Always demand a PAPER BALLOT for starters! It is your right.here’s another programmer/technician  who became a  heroic whistle blower  giving us the tea on   the vote machine makers Diebold ( a republican who ran for office and won with his own machines)  for rigging the machines and tells us they can erase votes in seconds.-Lady Miss Kier

Last Night at the Obama 2012 campaign launch at the Apollo ,  I had the pleasure to be seated next to Charles Rangel , the House of representatives most senior member who was an adamant opponent of George w .Bush and co & of the Iraq war, and put forth proposals to reinstate the draft in the 2000’s  after  earning  a Purple heart & a Bronze Star  for his service in the Korean War. In January 2007, Rangel became Chair of the powerful House  Ways and Means Committee, the first African American to do so, but stepped aside in 2008 when accused of failure to comply with tax laws ,however I never believed this should over shadow his great work for Civil Rights and for campaigning for the reduction of jail sentences for petty drug crimes pointing out the injustices of time for crack vrs. time for cocaine… He is also a founding member of the Congressional Black Caucus.  Known for his blunt speaking; he has long been outspoken about his views, never left Harlem, and has been arrested several times as part of political demonstrations . for more info about this legendary Democrat go to:

When Al Green hit the stage  my heart began pounding because to me, he’s written the greatest love songs ever. I’ve seen him 5 times and his voice is stronger now than 20 years ago. I love his sense of humor that comes across in his cooky stage presence. he’s both sexy and humble at once- rare for a star, His memphis band and dancers were tite and the sound was mixed to perfection by my chum Al Davis!

Afterwards we met outspoken legend and comedian  Paul Mooney ( he  wrote for Richard Pryor ,In living Color, Dave Chapelle, among others) , watch these incredible documentary: Know Your History , Analyzing White America

Obama made a great speech reminding us just how much he’s accomplished in just 3 years.Of course I hate the NDAA but as several senators are approaching him with a new bill to overturn that- I have hope again. Anyone that wants to be reminded of how far Obama has dragged us out of the ditches that bush shoved us into needs to read this:

i went to see her in concert in the late 80’s . the stage was set  with an orange sunset  and Tiki sculptures on the horizon but she never showed up ….meanwhile a woman in the bathroom swung her fur coat over the bathroom stall and a tranny snatched it and ran like the dickens out of the club while the older woman was still mid- tinkle in her stall . i heard her scream !!! what a memory ! hope you  enjoy YMA SUMAC -xtabay! i forgave her for standing us up because she was possibly in  her 70’s .   After seeing a picture of Perfidia online today , in her honor I had to post this. it’s a great mid-winter morning  song. and thanks  Robbert Voges for sending this to me. - Lady miss Kier

Faye Dunaway is a sweetheart in real life . She is such a GREAT actress that people actually believe she  IS  Joan Crawford and seem to focus on her as a bitch instead of a brilliant actress. remember Network,Chinatown , Bonnie and Clyde, Thomas crown affair, and on and on.I applaud her for choosing courageous political roles . While this is my favorite scene in “mommie dearest” there is so much , there is so much ,more,  more……..-lady Miss Kier

it stopped me in my trax  when I heard this on the radio in Pittsburgh… . I adored Jimi Castorbunch as a kid for his sense of humor mixed with relentless funk grooves and chord changes from another planet , when I heard “Bertha Butt” and “Hey Leroy…your’e mama’s calling you. ” he inspired P-funk , Rick james, and all the other funk bands including deee-lite. In my teens I fell in love with him all over again when “it’s just begun” was having a revival in NYC inspiring the no- wave sound of Nyc for bands like Liquid Liquid , Konk, and ESG  and again as a grownup when the rave scene pillaged his songs that later became rave anthems in the early breakbeat scene- like Troglodyte or songs by “the ga-gas’ . So sad we lost another funk legend! YOU never seemed to be  taking yourself seriously ,all the  while putting out SERIOUS classic trax. You made us dance and smile while doing it.  Your job is done…so  Rest now Jimi…  on a Big Bertha Butt Cloud in peace .  - lady Miss Kier     www.ladykier.com

thanks for posting DJ Pari : the Impressions We’re a Winner

He made me feel  proud to be a human in a time when many ignorant traditions were ready to finally be broken and sparked not just the civil rights movement but also  fueled the women’s liberation movement, the sexual revolution, and the movement which stopped cray-cray  from being locked up for years by their boss ,parents , neighbors  against their free will. My mom worked for civil rights and brought me along with her and I am certain it is because of this man. he inspired the world and said he didn’t make the movement but that the movement made him- so humble, so profound.- Lady Miss Kier
