the world is watching as cops throw nets and pepper spray the faces of peaceful protestors on NY’s wallstreet protest. Most of the 80 people arrested are journalists. 

 we want corporations to pay the taxes they owe ( currently they only pay 7% of what they owe.) we want billionairs to pay higher taxes not a lower % than middle class and lower class are paying, we are disgusted that banksters went ahead after the bailout and took their million dollar bonus’s while everyday people are being kicked to the curb for not reading the fine print  on their loans, want accountablity on how our tax money is being spent, accoutablity  for corporations that pollute our planet and dont clean up. Maybe since the USA sold 60% of the NY stock market last spring it  makes us feel even less human in the face of  billionaire corp shareholders. Each day more people show up. PEOPLE POWER worked in Egypt and Wisconson. I’m so proud of NYer’s that we havn’t given up on people power. thru hail, sleet , or rain….we are letting them know WE ARE HERE.     hmmm….will  Deutsche Borse  sell the NY/ German stock exchange to China?  I wonder ?   but besides that point , NYr’s are letting the world know The buck stops here. We are well aware this greed and bailout plan  started waaaaayyy  before Obama was voted into power  and we’re not happy about dumping  the blame  on him either. The blind  can see . the mute are speaking .

ARIAS WITH A TWIST  is not to be missed. I had the honour  to DJ for their opening night RETURN to NY show at the Abrams  theatre in NYC. A sold out night- I wasn’t able to take shots of the show but here is the afterparty. what a blast. Basil twist and Joey Arias together with Manfred Mugler have mashed all my favorites things into one glorious play:  great singing, glittering magic mushrooms, outerspace alien probing , dicoteques thruout time, busby berkly, truth , fat girls in a chorus line, giant woman walking thru NYC like King Kong all with  a natural timing for shim’s great sense of humor . NY is on the up and up……it’s playing until mid october.

I do not endorse this movie “LIMELIGHT” . I don’t understand how they can justifiably use my name or footage of me dancing at a rave in Baltimore  in their film, produced by the club owners daughter. Anyone who knew me in the early 90’s knows I was loudly vocal about boycotting the Limelight since day one because at the debut of   “disco 2000” , I was in the dj booth ,when the owner’s wife stormed in and told Supa DJ Dmitry to stop playing “black music” adding ” what do you think this is, Harlem? ”  . Me and the dj walked out immediatly  after those  frogs and creepy crawlers slithered out of her lipglossed mouth like a grim fairytale ugly princess character. For years , I had heard from so many black and latino youth that they were turned away at the door.

Of course there were a few people of color let in but most were turned away because ” they weren’t dressed right” only to return in  their most put-together looks to be turned away once again.  I would taunt my friends who worked there asking them why they would participate in such a bad environment that was  pushing special k to underage suburban white kids -  but the answer was always ”they paid well” .   I also resent the Limelight  because they secretly owned  ”Project x”  magazine which seemed to dictate what was happening in NYC clubs and always  put “disco 2000” on top. 

 Thank god THAT ugly part of NYC mid 90’s club culture came to a screaching  halt after it was discovered michael alig was found guilty of a  hammer bashing murder which including pouring drano down the mouth and hacking his victim into pieces before throwing his body in the hudson river. I was surprised “party monster’ never used the obvious metaphor in their film of  an Angel being sacrificed in  the church of pranks and debauchery. 

Along with their rotten door policy , themes such as “bloodbath”  had a huge impact in ruining  NYC club culture and was part of the reason i moved to London in 1995 and stayed nearly a decade.   SO……to find out  that the movie has bought  and edited  footage of me dancing at a rave in baltimore to use in the film  is shamefull as well as dropping my name in the interviews . I never saw the movie  but if you see my cheerful face  throwing down  to the early 90’s sounds remember„„I was not a regular at  LIMELIGHT and only remember going to disco 2000 three times. I wanted to set the record straight….I hated that club and most everything it stood for except for the innocent kids who went out to have fun and my many  friends who worked there.

the crowd @ Bassment on thursdays @ the legendary  Monster  is over the top with realness and simply  a ball- with DJ Jools and DJ Dirty Jean as our residents - they finally found a  club with a crowd worthy and receptive of their dedication to GREAT disco and house music. They book some of the best djs including me, last thursday, and tonite from berlin “Eric D Clark ” from whirlpool records who wrote the classic song “another night , another disco” among a zillion others . 

Xanadude! Saturdays ! NYC nitelife is on the up and up.
